Call for Papers Literary Association of Nepal International Conference- 2023 on Forest in Literature and Culture at Sauraha, Chitwan, Nepal
The forest has always resided in the human psyche as the site of both attraction and repulsion. As manifestations of nature, creative geniuses have sung the glory of the forest in their ephemeral poems. The seekers of order and logic everywhere, on the other hand, have denounced it as the absence of culture. Cities have removed people away from forests to create a cultural space. What are the possible ways of accepting and/or rejecting forest in literary works? Why is the forest a space of danger, wilderness, and the absence of order? What could be the reason for its valorization in contemporary literature and scholarship in the arts and humanities?
We propose to deliberate on these and many other such questions in the conference by bringing scholars, keynote speakers, and paper writers together from across the globe. Literary Association of Nepal has decided on “Forest in Literature and Culture” as the theme for its international conference in 2023.
